ANDERSON, Ind. – The Hanover women's swimming team saw three student-athletes garner first place marks as the Panthers opened the 2020-21 season at Anderson. Hanover fell to the Ravens, 104-80.
Leading the charge for the Panthers were sophomore
Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky. / Conner Senior), sophomore
Maddie Difilippo (Cincinnati, Ohio / Turpin) and freshman
Claire Horn (Lexington, Ky. / Lexington Chrisitan). Anderson claimed a first-place finish in the 100-yard free with a time of 59.16, while Horn won the 100-yard back in a time of 1:05.34. Difilippo claimed the top spot in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:04.06.
Anderson posted a strong performance in the 50-yard free with a second-place mark in time of 26.51.
Sophomore
Lindsey Hoskins (Columbia City, Ind. / Columbia City) also found success in the 100-yard fly claiming a runner-up finish with a time of 1:01.58. She also took second in the 200-yard free in time of 2:17.76.
In the 100-yard back, freshman
Alaina Simmons (Amboy, Ind. / Maconaquah) made her way onto the podium taking second with a time of 1:06.30. The freshman also found success in the 1,000-yard free in a time of 12:30.25, taking second overall.
Freshman
Abby Boyt (Seymour, Ind. / Seymour) closed out the individual events for Hanover with runner-up marks in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breast.
The team of Simmons, Hoskins, sophomore
Liz Bolinger (Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble), and Horn found success in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:52.30, claiming second overall.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, January 30, at 1:00 PM when they take on Rose-Hulman.
