HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers continued their hot streak as they dominated Franklin on Wednesday afternoon, 7-0.
With the win, Hanover remains perfect in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at 5-0-0, 10-0-2 overall.
The Panthers were paced by senior
Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) with two goals on three shots through 51 minutes of work.
Senior
Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) dealt the first goal for Hanover in the fourth minute as she was able to beat the Franklin backline for the 1-0 advantage.
The 10
th minute would see Boothby make her way into the scores column as she took a pass from junior
Ainsleigh Spaulding (Independence, Ky.) inside the 16-yard box to extend the lead, 2-0.
The second half saw a Panther surge as the tacked on five more goals. Freshman
Beth Cook (Goshen, Ohio) found the first blow in the 59
th minute off a pass from sophomore
Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) before a Franklin miscue pushed the difference to 4-0.
Boothby's final goal of the afternoon came in the 80
th minute as freshman
Nora Ludwig (Cincinnati, Ohio) played a through ball that saw HC push the lead to 5-0.
The final two goals of the contest came from senior
Kelsey Haas (Pickerington, Ohio) and junior
Marigrace Anderson (Batesville, Ind.). Haas found the back of the net in the 87
th minute before Anderson provided the final strike in the 88
th minute for the convincing 7-0 victory.
The 7-0 win tied the Panthers largest margin of victory this season.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 when they travel to Defiance. Game time is set for 1 PM.
