HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover was able to tame the Wittenberg Tigers en route to the 76-69 non-conference victory on Tuesday evening within the confines of Collier Arena. With the win, HC moves to 3-0 overall.
The Blue and Red saw four Panthers finish in double digits paced by senior
Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) with 19 points. Sophomore
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 15 points, sophomore
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) collected 11 points, and junior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) netted 10 points. Houston also added 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.
Junior
Ty Houston dominated the early minutes for the Panthers as he helped propel HC out front 8-0 before the Tigers broke the scoreless tie. With 10:10 to play, Hanover pushed the difference to as many as 10 points as Hibbard hit a layup in the lane, 19-9.
The Panthers continued to fire on all cylinders as junior
Jack Wininger (Elnora, Ind.) connected for his second three-pointer to push HC to the 29-17 advantage. Hanover entered the half with the 37-21 lead paced by the combination of Hibbard and Greenamoyer with nine points apiece.
The second half would see Wittenberg come running out of the gate as they hit a short run cutting the difference to 37-31 when Houston and Munoz sank back-to-back blows to halt the Tigers.
Hanover poured it on midway through the second half as senior
Noah Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) was able to find sophomore
Ryan Morris (McCordsville, Ind.) who sank a three-pointer pushing the score to 55-43. However, Wittenberg refused to roll over pulling within three points when the senior point guard, Hibbard, delivered propelling HC to victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, December 1 at they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with Anderson. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 PM.
