HANOVER, Ind. – Sophomore Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) netted a career performance to pace Hanover past Anderson on Wednesday evening as part of their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener. The Panthers claimed the 67-52 victory.

With the win, Hanover moves to 4-0 overall, 1-0 HCAC while the Ravens fall to 4-2 overall, 0-1.

Munoz finished with a career-high 23 points, while junior Jack Wininger (Elnora, Ind.) added 11 points.

In front of an electric crowd the Panthers dominated early using a 10-0 outburst paced by Munoz to soar past the Ravens. However, Anderson remained poise cutting the difference to 10-7 at the 12:00 minute mark.

The Ravens continued to battle as they pulled within 18-17 when senior Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) halted the charge. Munoz handled the rest netting 14 first half points to put HC on top 30-24.

The second half saw the hot shooting continue for Munoz as he delt a three-pointer before a sophomore Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) layup gave Hanover its largest lead to date, 41-31.

The Ravens continued to pester as they strung together an 8-0 run pulling within 41-38 when Hibbard and senior Noah Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) sank back-to-back layups stealing the momentum.

The rest was history as Wininger netted a series of blows that propelled HC to the 67-52 win.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 4 when they return to HCAC action with Bluffton. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
