HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's basketball team remained perfect as they knocked off Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Bluffton, 75-64.
With the win, Hanover moves to 5-0 overall, 2-0 HCAC.
The Panthers saw four players finish in double figures led by sophomore
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a double double. Munoz tied a team-high 17 points with 13 rebounds. Sophomore
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) tied a team-high 17 points, while senior
Isaac Hibbard (New Albany, Ind.) netted 16 points and junior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) added 11 points.
Bluffton soared out of the gate taking the 14-7 advantage when Houston hit a runner in the paint at the 15:05 mark to steal the momentum. Hanover claimed the lead minutes later as Greenamoyer connected from downtown to push HC on top.
The Panther never looked back as they entered the half gripping to the 41-33 lead following a last second layup by Hibbard.
The second half saw the hot shooting continue for the Blue and Red as a Munoz three-pointer at the 14:21 mark gave HC the 50-36 advantage. They continued to fire on all cylinders capturing their largest lead at the 12:25 mark following a corner three-pointer by Hibbard. The Panthers outscored the Beavers 34-31 in the half to claim the HCAC victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 11 when they travel to Defiance. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
