HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's basketball team celebrated senior day with a 78-54 victory over Anderson on Friday evening. Hanover recognized seniors
Mark Albers (Pendleton, Ind.),
Jordan Armstrong (Shelbyville, Ky.),
Connor Washburn (Indianapolis, Ind.), and
Jackson McHugh.
In the contest, Hanover was paced by Albers with a team-high 21 points. Teammates, sophomore
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) and freshman
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 12 points apiece.
The opening half saw the Panthers use a 7-0 run capped off by a Munoz three-pointer to claim the 21-11 lead with 10:29 to play. The hot shooting continued for the Blue and Red as a freshman
Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) jumper pushed the difference to 23-13. Anderson looked to make a run before halftime, but the Panther offense had other things in mind as back-to-back scores by junior
Noah Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and Houston gave HC the 36-24 advantage.
The second half would see the Panthers extend their lead as a Gilman three-pointer at the 11:35 mark pushed Hanover out in front, 51-38. Freshman
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) delivered a blow moments later before back-to-back three-pointers by freshman
Josiah Ricketts (New Harmony, Ind.) blew the game wide open. Hanover would go on to shoot an impressive 60 percent for the contest claiming the victory.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday when they head to Anderson, Ind. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM.
