Men's Basketball Claims Senior Day Victory

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's basketball team celebrated senior day with a 78-54 victory over Anderson on Friday evening. Hanover recognized seniors Mark Albers (Pendleton, Ind.), Jordan Armstrong (Shelbyville, Ky.), Connor Washburn (Indianapolis, Ind.), and Jackson McHugh.

In the contest, Hanover was paced by Albers with a team-high 21 points. Teammates, sophomore Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) and freshman Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 12 points apiece.

The opening half saw the Panthers use a 7-0 run capped off by a Munoz three-pointer to claim the 21-11 lead with 10:29 to play. The hot shooting continued for the Blue and Red as a freshman Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) jumper pushed the difference to 23-13. Anderson looked to make a run before halftime, but the Panther offense had other things in mind as back-to-back scores by junior Noah Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and Houston gave HC the 36-24 advantage.

The second half would see the Panthers extend their lead as a Gilman three-pointer at the 11:35 mark pushed Hanover out in front, 51-38. Freshman Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) delivered a blow moments later before back-to-back three-pointers by freshman Josiah Ricketts (New Harmony, Ind.) blew the game wide open. Hanover would go on to shoot an impressive 60 percent for the contest claiming the victory.

Hanover returns to action on Sunday when they head to Anderson, Ind. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM.
