ANDERSON, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday evening with a sweep of Anderson, taking match one 3-1 (26-28, 25-15, 25-21, 25-19) before sweeping match two in straight sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-22). The Panthers finished the regular season with a 13-5 overall record, 5-4 HCAC mark.
Sophomore
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.) led Hanover in the series with a team-high 23 kills, while teammate junior
Maddie Edwards (Jasper, Ind.) added 20 kills. Junior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) added a team-best 56 assists, averaging eight assists per set.
The Panthers dropped set one, before rallying to a 4-0 lead in set two. The Ravens responded knotting the set at 10-10 when junior
Emma McPeek (North Vernon, Ind.) and Harmon delivered back-to-back kills that pushed the Blue and Red back in front 14-11. They carried the momentum deep into the set as they captured the final eight points to even the match at 1-1.
In set three, Hanover used a series of runs paced by Ketcham from behind the service line to claim the 13-7 advantage. The excitement continued as junior
Maura Dankoski (Fishers, Ind.) delivered a kill before a pair of Anderson miscues secured the set.
The final set of the match saw Anderson jump out to the 10-5 lead when a freshman
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) service ace tied the contest at 11-11. However, the Panthers used another run paced by McPeek to claim the 19-15 lead. Harmon secured the match with a kill that gave the Blue and Red the 3-1 victory.
Hanover opened the final match with a series of runs in set one that saw them capture the 13-9 advantage. The excitement continued as a 7-0 run paced by Harmon gave HC the 23-12 lead. Ketcham delivered the final blow securing the set win.
Anderson dominated set two early surging to the 6-0 lead when an sophomore
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) kill and a Ravens miscue pulled Hanover back within 7-4. They continued to chip at the lead when an Edwards killed tied the set. Hanover claimed the lead moments later off a 11-0 rally that propelled them to the 2-0 advantage.
The Panthers closed out the afternoon with a 25-22 set three victory. Ketcham paced the Panthers from behind the service line.
