HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther swim team welcomed Franklin on Saturday afternoon, falling in the meet 151-50.
Sophomore
Ilys Anderson (Hebron, Ky.) led the charge for Hanover winning the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall in a time of 26.20. The 200-yard freestyle relay also registered a strong performance winning the race with a time of 1:47.08. The team was made up of Anderson, freshman
Claire Horn (Lexington, Ky.), senior
Megan Brandt (Guyton, Ga.), and freshman
Alaina Simmons (Amboy, Ind.).
The 200-yard medley relay made up of Simmons, sophomore
Liz Bolinger (Kendallville, Ind.), sophomore Maddie Difillippo (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Anderson captured a runner-up mark with a time of 2:00.00.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman
Abby Boyt (Seymour, Ind.) claimed success taking second overall with a mark of 1:16.30.
Simmons also captured a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:09.19, while teammate Brandt took third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.97.
Hanover returns to the pool on Friday, March 5 when they compete as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
