HANOVER, IND. – Junior
Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) delivered a penalty kick in overtime to help propel the Panthers past Rose-Hulman, 2-1. With the win, the Blue and Red remain perfect at 6-0 overall while Rose-Hulman falls to 5-1 overall.
The first half opened as a back-an-forth battle with neither team finding an edge when junior
Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) beat the Rose-Hulman defense at the 26-minute mark delivering a strong blow that hit the post.
Junior
Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) would take a crack at breaking the scoreless tie in the 35
th minute as she fired off a strike that was denied by the post. Hanover entered the break with a game-high nine shots, three of which landed on frame.
Rose-Hulman broke the scoreless tie early into the second half as they were able to record a shot that landed just out of the reach of the Panther keeper, 1-0.
The Panthers refused to roll over as Rolfsen sent a through ball to sophomore
Kate Donovan (Carmel, Ind.) who ultimately found junior
Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) for the equalizer in the 68
th minute, 1-1.
The Blue and Red amped up the pressure on net as Day looked for her second blow of the afternoon striking the crossbar.
She would get another chance in overtime as she played a shot off a pass from Rolfsen that was just wide of frame.

th minute that saw Hanover reign victorious.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, March 28 when they welcome Bluffton. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
