HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover men's lacrosse team used balance scoring to shoot past Earlham on senior day, 15-3.
Hanover was led on the afternoon by senior
Jackson Wheeler (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a game-high five goals.
The Panthers scored early and often as senior
Eric Hopkins (Evansville, Ind.) netted the first strike with just over 14 minutes to play in the opening stanza. Wheeler provided his first goal of the afternoon moments later that saw HC claim the 2-0 lead.
The scoring outburst continued for Wheeler as he hit back-to-back-Â goals that blew the game wide open, 4-0. Hanover entered the second stanza wih the 5-0 advantage.
Hopkins would find the back of the net once more in the second quarter to give Hanover the 6-0 lead at the break.Â
Hanover erupted in the second half as senior
Ian Kimmins (Dayton, Ohio) found his way into the scores column before another Wheeler strike pushed the difference to 8-1.
Hopkins completed the hat trick with 6:31 to play in the third quarter when Wheeler and Perkins both delivered blows, 11-2.
Leading 13-2 midway through the fourth period freshman
Cole Finley (Louisa, Va.) and freshman
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) provided the contest final daggers en route to the convincing Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory.Â
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, April 24 when they take on Anderson.Â
