GAMBIER, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers opened the 2021 season in dominate fashion using a three goal first half outburst to defeat Kenyon, 3-0.
Hanover was led in the contest by senior
Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) with a game-high two goals on six shots. Senior
Amanda Carmosino (Noblesville, Ind.) played a stellar half in frame charting a team-high five saves. Sophomore
Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) also helped pace the attack witha goal and four shots, all of which landed on net.
The Panthers struck early as Day was able to elude the Kenyon defense at the 11:52 mark propelling Hanover out in front 1-0. The Blue and Red added an insurance goal moments later as a goal kick by sophomore
Maggie Hinegardner (Fort Thomas, Ky.) sparked another goal scoring drive. Day provided the dagger as she netted her second blow of the afternoon, 2-0.
The final strike came off the foot of Reeves as she received a pass from senior
Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) at the 29 minute mark that secured the convincing 3-0 victory. The Panthers finished the contest with a game-high 20 shots, 13 of which landed on frame.
The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, Sept. 4 when they travel to Wheaton College. Game time is set for 11:00 AM.
