NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team hit the road this evening taking on NAIA foe Indiana University Southeast. The Panthers dropped the match 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 20-25).

Hanover (3-6 overall) was paced by junior
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a game-high 14 kills, while senior teammate
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) added 34 assists.

Set One
Hanover and IU Southeast opened the contest in a competitive back and forth battle with neither team gaining ground. However, the Grenadiers were able to steal the momentum following an HC miscue that propelled them to the 25-22 set one win.

Set Two
Hanover bounced back in set two as they rattled off the first seven points behind the service of junior
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.). IU Southeast continued to hang tough as they were able to cut the deficit to 13-11 when Ketcham went to work. The senior paced a five point rally, connecting for a pair of service aces that would push HC back in front 19-11. Hanover went on to claim the set 25-18.

Set Three
The back-an-forth battle continued into set three as IU Southeast surged ahead early before a Vance kill and a sophomore
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) service ace pulled HC within 14-10. The Panthers continued on the attack as freshman
Maggie Schweitzer (Shelbyville, Ind.) found Vance for another Hanover strike. However, IU Southeast deemed to much as they captured the set 25-20.

Set Four
The final set would see the Grenadiers pull away late rattling off four straight points for the 19-14 advantage. They secured the non-conference victory off a series of Panther mishaps that propelled them to the 25-20 win.

Hanover returns to action on Friday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 18 when they play host to the Hanover Invitational.
