Panthers shoot past Capital in non-conference match-up

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers welcomed Capital on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action, defeating the Crusaders 4-0.
 
The Blue and Red were paced by senior Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) with four shots and a goal. Senior Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) added two shots a goal and an assist.
 
The opening half saw the Panthers surge ahead as a goal in the 39th minute propelled them in front 1-0. Freshman Kate Bettner (Noblesville, Ind.) provided the strike as she took a pass from senior Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) en route to her first career goal.
 
The Blue and Red added an insurance goal midway through the second half as Boothby made her way into the score's column with just over 20 minutes remaining.
 
The third strike came in the 74th minute as Boothby found Day, pushing the difference to 3-0.
 
The final goal of the afternoon came from junior Marigrace Anderson (Batesville, Ind.) as sophomore Bri Matis and sophomore Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) played a ball to the forward who netted it for the final goal of the afternoon, 4-0.
 
Hanover returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 21 when they take on Asbury College.
