WILMORE, Ky. – The Hanover Panthers dominated in non-conference action on Tuesday evening defeating Asbury 5-0. With the win, the Panthers move to 4-0-2 overall on the season.
The Blue and Red saw senior
Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio) pace the attack as she netted a game-high two goals on six shots, while teammate senior
Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) added one goal and an assist. Hanover also got goals from sophomore
Bri Matis (Liberty Twp., Ohio) and senior
Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.).
The first blow of the afternoon came from Boothby just two minutes into the contest as she was able to give HC the 1-0 lead.
The scoring frenzy continued as Day found the back of the net in the 18
th minute off an assist by sophomore
Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) to push the lead to 2-0.
The final blow in the first half came from Hughes who extended the difference to 3-0.
The second half saw both Boothby and Matis provide the final goals of the evening en route to the victory. Boothby found the back of the net in the 57
th minute while Matis netted the final blow in the 71
st minute.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 taking on Ohio Northern. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
