HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team dominated Manchester on Saturday afternoon, winning the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up 9-0.
The Panthers combined for a fantastic team effort as senior
Maddie Shannon (Anderson, Ind.) and freshman
Linde Meerpoel (Wolvertem, Belgium) opened the afternoon with a 8-6 win at no. 1 doubles.
The success continued as sophomore
Isabelle Roberts (Brownsburg, Ind.) and sophomore
Melaina Tippery (Loogootee, Ind.) captured no. 2 doubles 8-1.
The Panthers would go on to sweep doubles action before Meerpoel picked up another victory at no. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0.
No. 2 singles would see Roberts claim the match 6-0, 6-1, while teammate Tippery won no. 3 singles in exciting fashion 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
The final match would see freshman
Lauren Hale (Crawfordsville, Ind.) reign victorious 6-0, 6-0.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 29 when they take on area rival Franklin.
