LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Hanover volleyball team competed as part of the Transylvania Invitational on Saturday defeating Marietta 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-11) before falling to nationally ranked Muskingum 0-3 (24-26, 18-25, 11-25).
MATCH 1 – MARIETTA
Hanover dominated set one tallying 14 kills while posting a .345 hitting percentage. Pacing the Panthers in the match was senior
Maddie Edwards (Jasper, Ind.) with a kill that sealed the 25-13 win.
Set two would see the Blue and Red register a game-high 15 kills on 36 total attempts. Hanover surged ahead early behind the service of senior
Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.) who helped push HC to the set two 25-13 victory.
The Panthers used a series of runs in the final set, behind the attack of senior
Maura Dankoski (Fishers, Ind.) and junior
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) to claim the straight set win, 25-11.
MATCH 2 – MUSKINGUM
The final match of the evening saw the Blue and Red take on nationally ranked Muskingum falling in straight sets. The Panthers posted a strong showing tallying a set one high 20 kills on 65 attempts paced by junior
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.).
The next two sets would see HC combine for 20 kills led by Edwards with a match total 11 kills. Ketcham added 23 assists.
