HANOVER, Ind. – A first half outburst propels Hanover past Earlham in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon, 5-0. With the win, Hanover moves to 6-0-2 overall, 1-0-0 in HCAC action.
Leading the charge was senior
Maggie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) with a game-high three goals. Senior
Kelsey Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) and junior
Josie Dattilo (Montgomery, Ohio) also added a strike.
The first half would see the Blue and Red surge ahead as Day netted a goal in the fourth minute off an assist by senior
Autumn Boothby (Mount Orab, Ohio), 1-0.
Day added her second strike of the contest moments later off another assist from Boothby that sent HC out in front 2-0. The final goal of the opening frame came from the duo of Hughes and senior
Bryn Rolfsen (Loveland, Ohio) sending the Panthers into the intermission with a 3-0 lead.
The second half would see the Panthers add a pair of insurance goals, one in the 55
th minute by Dattilo and the final goal in the 62
nd minute by Day.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 3 when they take on Bluffton.
