Softball announces 2022 schedule

HANOVER, Ind. – The 2022 Hanover softball schedule will feature a slue of nationally ranked opponents with the Panthers set to open the season in St. Louis, Mo. under the guidance of fifth year head coach Cori Collinsworth.
 
This year's campaign will open on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Sunday, Feb. 27 with the Panthers taking on Monmouth, Fontbonne, Buena Vista, and Carroll University. Hanover continues their winter break road trip with a stop in Jackson, MS on Wednesday, March 2 taking on Millsaps College before heading south to Birmingham, Ala. on Thursday, March 3. The doubleheader will feature a head-to-head matchup with nationally ranked Birmingham-Southern, who in 2021 advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament final four and ranked fifth overall.
 
The Panthers then travel to Centre on Tuesday, March 8 before trekking north for Hope College on Saturday, March 12. Hanover's home debut is slated for Tuesday, March 15 with non-conference foe Asbury followed by a trip to Lexington, Ky. for the Pioneer Classic on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, Mach 20. The Classic will feature matchups against Illinois Wesleyan, Muskingum, Case Western, and Wittenberg.
 
On Friday, March 25, the Blue and Red return to Kop- Bedel Stadium taking on Denison as part of a two game home stint. Hanover opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at home on Saturday, April 2 with Defiance before heading to rival Franklin for a midweek contest on Wednesday, April 6.
 
The Panthers take on Manchester on Saturday, April 9 followed by Transylvania on Wednesday, April 13 and Anderson on Saturday, April 16.
 
They hit the road for Bluffton University on Saturday, April 23 and Rose-Hulman on Monday, April 25 for a nightcap against the Fightin' Engineers. The regular season will wrap up with a pair of home contest featuring Wilmington on Thursday, April 28 and nationally ranked Mt. St. Joseph on Friday, April 29.
 
The HCAC Tournament is set to open on Friday, May 6.
