Cori Collinsworth has resigned her position as leader of the Panthers, Hanover College Vice President for Athletics
Mark Shook announced on Tuesday afternoon.
"I'm sorry for Cori to go as she was not only a really good coach for us, but also a really good leader in our department and on our campus. I've grown to appreciate her personality, commitment, and work ethic over this past year," praised Vice President for Athletics
Mark Shook.
"I'm glad she is able to transition to a role in intercollegiate athletics closer to her home and with a more balanced lifestyle for her and her family.
That said, Cori has left us in a good position with a full roster and really good players. The next coach will also have a great facility and donor support to continue to move the program forward in all ways."
Collinsworth served at the helm of the program for nine seasons coaching several Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference honorees as well as receiving the HCAC Coach of the Year accolade in 2022.
Over the last nine seasons, she has had several Tom Bohlsen All-Academic Honorees as well as CSC Academic All-District members and have watched several records fall.
""I am very fortunate for my time serving as the head coach of Hanover College Softball for nine seasons. In that time, I was proud to work with some of the most talented and dedicated student athletes. I am indebted to each one of them for their hard work and commitment to our program and all the support they have shown since graduating," praised
Cori Collinsworth.
"Thank you to
Mark Shook, Lynn Hall, Dr. Lake Lambert, Elaine Kops-Bedel, the administration and my colleagues for the unwavering support during my tenure. I am proud of the state of the program and look forward to seeing all the future success. I trust the administration to select a leader to guide the program to the next level."
Shook said a national search will begin immediately to find Collinsworth's replacement as the leader of the Panther Softball program.
