HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (11-2-2 overall, 7-0-1 HCAC) remained among the top of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings on Saturday as they defeated Bluffton 4-0.
The Panthers saw three different athletes record goals in the contest as junior Aidan Heister (Seymour, Ind.) delivered the first blow. Heister fired a shot that deflected off the Bluffton defense for an own goal, 1-0.
The scoring outburst continued in the second half with junior
Cassidy Lett (Walton, Ky.) taking the ball at the 18 and firing a shot that beat the Beaver goalkeeper, 2-0.
In the 67
th minute, sophomore
Nora Ludwig (Cincinnati, Ohio) connected with senior
Cleo Mills (Indianapolis, Ind.) off a corner kick that pushed the HC lead to 3-0.
The final goal of the contest came at the 72
nd minute mark as junior
Bri Matis (Liberty Twp., Ohio) played a pass from freshman
Emily Duffey (Cincinnati, Ohio) firing home the 4-0 victory.
The Panthers wrap up regular season play on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:00 PM as they look to claim the no. 1 seed in HCAC Tournament.
