ANDERSON, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers (3-4 overall, 3-1 HCAC) dominates the Ravens of Anderson in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon, 62-3.
Sophomore
Austin Oppel (Brandenburg, Ky.) led the Panthers with an impressive 164 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.
Defensively, freshman
Ben Massey (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the charge with four tackles a sack and a forced fumble.
After trailing 3-0 early in the first quarter the Panthers never looked back as junior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) put Hanover on the board with a 15-yard reception that topped a five play 58-yard drive, 6-3.
The scoring frenzy continued as Hanover found the endzone one final time in the first quarter as senior
Hunter Eads (Batavia, Ohio) caught an eight-yard pass with just 25 seconds remaining on the clock, 13-3.
The second frame saw senior
Elijah Irvine (Louisville, Ky.) find the end zone as he rushed for 20-yards capping an impressive three play 39-yard drive.
Hanover found the endzone two more times in the second quarter with Oppel pushing the halftime difference to 34-3.
In the second half, Oppel turned in his largest run of the afternoon a 63-yard scamper and score. The drive was just two plays and covered 68-yards, 41-3.
With the flood gates wide open, junior
Kolton Richards (Kissimmee, Fla.) charted a TD score before Irvine found the endzone one final time, 55-3.
The final touchdown came with just 1:22 to play in the fourth quarter as Hanover soared to the 62-3 HCAC victory.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 5 when they welcome Rose-Hulman to Alumni Stadium.
