HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team (13-13 overall, 4-5 HCAC) celebrated senior day on Saturday afternoon welcoming Rose-Hulman as part of their regular season finale. The Panthers fell in the match 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 21-25).
Prior to the contest, Hanover recognized seniors
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.),
Meredith Deckard (Bedford, Ind.), and
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.).
Hanover was paced in the contest by Harmon with a team-high 12 kills.
The opening set saw the Panthers trailing 5-1 when a Rose-Hulman hiccup and a Harmon kill pushed HC on top. Hanover continued to rally charting three straight points to push the difference to 15-13.
Maddie Robertson secured the set for the Blue and Red halting a Rose-Hulman surge.
However, Rose-Hulman stole the momentum in set two rattling off four straight points to claim the 8-3 advantage. Hanover looked to respond as another Harmon killed pulled HC to within 13-11. But the. Fightin' Engineers deemed to much as they were able to hold on for the tight 25-21 victory.
Rose-Hulman would go on to win the next two sets as the Panthers struggled from behind the service line, finishing the contest with 10 total service errors.
