HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (4-4 overall, 4-1 HCAC) hosts Rose Hulman (5-3 overall, 5-0 HCAC) celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, November 5
th at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30PM.
Hanover Gets Back in the Win Column
Following their first HCAC loss to Mt. St. Joseph two weekends ago, Hanover handled business in a road matchup with Anderson (0-8 overall, 0-5 HCAC).
After Anderson had a successful field goal attempt three minutes into the game, Hanover posted 62 unanswered points to defeat the Ravens 62-3.
Hanover's offense consisted of multiple guys sharing a total of 372 team rushing yards. Leading the ground attack was Sophomore
Austin Oppel (Bradenburg, Ky.) who carried the pigskin 14 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Oppel leads the team with 646 rushing yards on the season and 12 total touchdowns. Senior
Elijah Irvine (Louisville, Ky.) also helped the Panthers on the ground with 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
In the air, senior
Matthew Weimer (Georgetown, Ind.) completed 15 of his 21 passing attempts for a total of 149 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target was junior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.), who hauled in five catches for 54 yards. Roudebush also found the endzone for the second week in a row, giving him four touchdowns on the season. Â
The Hanover defense was led by sophomore
Jayleem Santos (Warner Robins, Ga.) with seven tackles, and three tackles for a loss. Senior
Devonte Hardiman (Princeton, Ind.) also found himself in the Ravens' backfield with two tackles for a loss, including a forced fumble. At the end of the 60 minutes, the Panther defense held the Ravens to 185 yards of total offense on 73 snaps.
Rose Remains Undefeated in Conference Play
Last Saturday, Rose Hulman picked up their fifth straight victory with a 76-35 win over Defiance. At the helm for the Engineers was Miguel Robertson, who had a career day. In only two quarters of action, Robertson put up 324 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Â Hobbs, Huery, and Tice-Saliu all had two receiving touchdowns for the Engineers.
