Five land in double figures as Hanover knocks-off Methodist

Box Score ROANOKE, Va. – Hanover (7-4 overall) landed five in double-figures as they ran over the Monarchs of Methodist on Friday afternoon as part of the Cregger Invitational in Roanoke, Va. Hanover won the contest 87-74.

The Blue and Red were paced in the game by senior Ty Houston (Union, Ky.), junior Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) and sophomore Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.). Greenamoyer netted a team-high 19 points while Sater added 14 points. Houston recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

In what was a fast pace first five minutes, the Panther offense prevailed racing ahead of Methodist 6-0 following a junior Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) three-pointer. Hanover continued to show their range with junior Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) pacing an 11-0 run that saw the Panthers capture a double-digit advantage, 19-5.

The red-hot Panther offense was all gas for much of the first half with sophomore Luke Miller (Madison, Ind.) burying a three-pointer from the corner propelling HC out front 24-10.

Methodist would cut the difference to as little as 27-19 in the first half when senior Ty Houston delt his first field goal of the game sending Hanover into the intermission leading 35-23.

The second half would see HC net their largest lead to date as Gilman hit a turnaround runner in the paint that capped a 6-1 run, 41-26. Hanover dominated the defensive boards limiting the Monarchs second chance attempts as they were able to extend the difference to as many as 57-34.

However, Methodist cranked up the full court pressure late into the frame as they spooked the Panthers pulling within 82-70 but the Blue and Red never let-up as they secured the non-conference victory.

Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 4 when they travel to Mt. St. Joseph. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
