HANOVER, Ind. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced the recipients of the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, displaying success in the classroom and on the court.
 
The Hanover men's basketball team was named a recipient of the Team Academic Excellence Award, while senior Cole Shumate, senior Davis Olson, junior Jack Miller, and junior William Herald received NABC Honors Court accolades.
 
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2026-27 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
 
The NABC's academic awards are presented annually to teams and athletes from all levels of college basketball.
 
Shumate appeared in 11 games last season with one start. He finished his career with 36 games played and posted a 45.5 percent from three-point range.
 
Olson saw action in 25 games in 2025-26 with eight starts. The senior crushed the boards pulling down 84 total rebounds, including 56 defensive rebounds. He averaged 18.1 minutes per contest while netting a career 170 total points.
 
Miller appeared in 25 total games with 24 starts averaging 24.5 minutes per game. He finished the season averaging 6.7 points per game while pulling down 3.4 rebounds.
 
Herald was the Panthers sharpshooter from three-point netting 49 total, including a career-high six in a game at Berea. He finished the year shooting 44.5 percent from long range and combined for 212 total points.
