BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers hit the road for Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Bluffton, splitting with the Beavers. Hanover took game one 10-8 before falling in the nightcap 13-3.
GAME ONE
After falling behind 3-0 the Panthers came storming back as freshman Andrew Osterling (Batesville, Ind.) woke the Panther bats with a homerun in the top of the fourth inning, 3-1.
The scoring outburst continued later in the inning as freshman
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.) drove in two more runs knotting the contest at 3-3.
The Panthers first lead of the afternoon came in the fifth inning with junior
Jacob Dupps (Louisville, Ky.) picking up the RBI. Hanover plated two more runs to push the difference to 6-2.
Hanover continued its slow and steady pace using a one run sixth inning, one run eighth inning, and two run ninth inning to secure the HCAC win.
Picking up the win on the mound was junior
Matthew Alter (Indianapolis, Ind.) throwing six complete innings surrendering just four earned runs on seven hits.
GAME TWO
Bluffton would get their revenge in game two using a five run fourth inning and an eight run fifth inning to surge ahead 13-0.
Hc would get two runs back in the next half inning as sophomore
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) doubled pushing both Osterling and Dupps across home plate, 13-2.
The Panthers final bright spot came in the seventh inning as senior
Andrew Littlefield (Louisville, Ky.) went yard before the Beavers were able to retire the side and secure the 13-3 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Tuesday, April 26 when they welcome Transylvania. First pitch is set for noon.
