HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon using a come from behind victory to claim the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up over Mt. St. Joseph, 18-9.
Prior to the contest, the Panthers recognized seniors
Josh Perkins (San Diego, Calif.),
Jackson Parrish (Noblesville, Ind.), and
Sean O'Meara (Lexington, Ky.).
Freshman
Luke Haines (Lexington, Ky.) and sophomore
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) led the Panther comeback tying a team-high four goals apiece.
After surging ahead 2-0 the Blue and Red found themselves on the wrong side of an 8-4 deficit midway through the second frame.
However, Hanover came stampeding back as senior
Dirk Meinhart (Elizabethtown, Ky.) found the back of the net with just 10:29 till halftime. The assault on net continued with freshman
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) providing a dagger at the 3:19 mark, tying the contest at 8-8.
Hanover never looked back as they charted four third quarter goals, led by Haines, to jump ahead 12-8.
The final frame saw Adams add two of his four total goals to propel HC past MSJ in convincing fashion, 18-9.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, April 27 when they travel to Earlham. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
