HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther fall in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action to area rival Franklin dropping game one 9-6 before falling in the night cap 11-6.
GAME ONE
The Panthers surged ahead in the fourth inning as sophomore
Connor Farnsley (Jeffersonville, Ind.) connected for a homerun to right field that sent HC out front, 1-0.
However, the Grizzlies responded using a two run fifth inning to claim the lead, 2-1.
The bats remained hot for the Blue and Red as they were able to add three runs in the seventh inning off the bat of sophomore
Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.) who hit a homerun to right field, 4-4.
But again, Franklin continued to respond using a three run seventh and a run in the eighth and ninth inning to secure the win.
GAME TWO
Franklin carried the momentum into game two as they plated two runs in the first inning before HC responded.
Junior
Jacob Dupps (Louisville, KY.) provided the clutch hit in the bottom half of the inning singling to left field pulling HC within 2-1.
But again, the Grizzlies responded using a four run outburst in the fifth inning to push the difference to 6-1.
Hanover looked to rally in the bottom half of the inning as senior
Andrew Littlefield (Louisville, Ky.) homered before Farnsley singled to left pulling the Panthers within 6-4.
The charge continued for Franklin as they added five more runs over the next four innings to secure the sweep 11-6.
Hanover concludes the regular season at 16-20 overall and 10-8 in conference action.
