Second half surge deems costly for Panthers

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers dropped a non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon at Trine, falling to the Thunder 2-0.

The Blue and Red were paced by sophomore Beth Cook (Goshen, Ohio) with a team-high two shots, one of which landed on frame.

The first half saw the Panthers pressure the net as Cook fired a shot in the 30th minute that was saved by the Thunder keeper. However, both teams refused to give an edge as they entered the intermission locked in a scoreless tie.

Trine would respond in the second half using a two goal outburst to capture the non-conference victory.

In frame, junior Maggie Hinegardner (Fort Thomas, Ky.) charted a game-high eight saves.

Hanover returns to action Saturday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Capital. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
