HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team (4-6 overall) used a five set thriller to defeat Adrian as part of the opening match in the Hanover Invitational on Friday evening. The Blue and Red defeated the Bulldogs 19-25, 25-11, 26-24, 15-11.
Leading the Panther attack was freshman
CC Shick (Fort Thomas, Ky.) with a game and team-high 18 kills. Freshman
Maddie Robertson (Mitchell, Ind.) added nine kills while freshman
Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.) charted seven kills.
Defensively, junior
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) added a game best 43 digs, while teammate junior
Aubrey Walton (Linton, Ind.) dished out 21 assists.
The Panthers charted double digit kills in both the second and third sets to propel them to a game total 50 kills. As a unit, they finished the contest hitting .163.
The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they take on both Westminter and Berea.
