SANDUSKY, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers (1-1 overall) opened the 2022 season with a trip to Sandusky, Ohio for the Great Lakes Cross Over splitting the competition.
GAME ONE
The Blue and Red claimed the opening match in dominating fashion as they took Bethany to five sets, winning 25-14, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 15-12.
Hanover was led in the contest by senior
Adrianne Vance (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a team-high 10 kills. Teammate, junior
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) added a game best 26 digs with five assists.
The duo of senior
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.) and
Molly Schwarzkopf (Greenfield, Ind.) also dealt out seven kills apiece as Hanover charted 41 total kills.
GAME TWO
The night cap saw the Panthers fall in four sets as Case Western claimed the 3-1 victory, 25-22, 19-25, 14-25, 22-25.
Hanover was led by freshman
CC Shick (Fort Thomas, Ky.) with a team-high eight kills, while teammate sophomore
Maggie Schweitzer (Shelbyville, Ind.) dished out 14 assists.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 3 as part of the Great Lakes Cross Over taking on Muskingum.
