SANDUSKY, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers wrapped up the weekend competing as part of the Great Lakes Cross Over falling to regionally ranked Muskingum 3-0 before dropping a hard-fought battle with Baldwin Wallace 3-2.
GAME ONE
The Panthers opened Saturday action against regionally ranked Muskingum falling in straight sets 25-10, 25-20, 25-18.
Pacing the attack for the Blue and Red was freshman
CC Shick (Fort Thomas, Ky.) with a team best seven kills on 18 total attempts. Junior
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) and senior
Emma Harmon (Carmel, Ind.) led the defensive efforts charting double digit digs. Dunn added a team best 16 while Harmon picked up 14 digs.
GAME TWO
After dropping a tough set one with Baldwin Wallace 25-14, the Panthers battled back taking the next two sets 26-24, 25-23. They would go on to surrender the fourth set 25-18 before falling in a competitive fifth set 17-15.
Hanover was led in the contest by Shick with a team-high 10 kills on 29 attempts. Three Panthers finished with eight kills apiece in sophomore
Brookelyn Herrell (Greenfield, Ind.), freshman
Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.), and Harmon.
Dunn picked up a team best 26 digs.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 7 when they travel to Centre. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
