HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team dropped a heartbreaking Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match to Rose-Hulman on Saturday afternoon at the Zeddies Tennis Center 5-4.
The no. 2 doubles team of junior
Rachel Pinnick (Franklin, Ind.) and sophomore
Lauren Hale (Crawfordsville, Ind.) looked to secure the team's lone victory in doubles action as they battled to an 8-7 tie breaking set, ultimately falling 7-0.
In singles play, junior
Isabelle Roberts (Brownsburg, Ind.) captured the Panthers first win as she was able to capture no. 3 singles in impressive fashion 6-2, 6-1.
The victories continued for the Blue and Red as freshman
Hailey Vandeventer (Bloomington, Ind.) claimed no. 4 singles 6-3, 6-4.
At no. 5 singles, sophomore
Lyla Waskom (Scottsburg, Ind.) battled tough hanging on for a strong 6-4, 7-5 victory.
The Panthers final win came at no. 6 singles with Hale reigning victorious 6-4, 6-2.
HC returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when travel to Earlham.
