Hanover opened the contest with patience on the offensive side of the floor as Sater led the charge in the paint. After hitting an easy layup, teammate
Ty Houston netted a three-pointer to pull HC within 11-10 at the 15 minute mark.
However, Rose-Hulman caught fire from long-range pushing their lead to as many as 21-12 midway through the half. Houston halted the surge hitting a turnaround jumper in the lane, eclipsing 1,000 career points, to help spark the Panther attack. They slowly chipped at the double-digit difference using a 15-0 run to enter the intermission trailing just 48-42.
The second half saw the hot hand of Houston continue as he netted a three-pointer from the corner when junior
Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) dropped a two point conversion to cut the deficit to just 52-51. But Rose-Hulman refused to surrender the lead hitting a three-pointer to extend the difference.
Sater proved to be the deciding factor late using the old fashion three-point play to help propel Hanover to their first lead of the second half at the 7:41 mark, 66-65. The Panther offense handled the rest with Sater connecting for a career-high en route to the win.
