HANOVER, Ind. - The Panthers (5-1 overall, 2-1 HCAC) celebrated the 96th Homecoming with a victory over Manchester, 34-0.
As a unit, Hanover recorded 407-yards of total offense. Defensively, the Panthers charted four take-a-ways and held Manchester to a game-low 230-yards of offense.
The Panthers found the endzone early and often as they hung seven at the 10:03 mark in the first quarter. The drive consisted of four plays for 57-yards. The driving force appeared to be junior
Austin Oppel (Brandenburg, Ky.) who scampered for 40-yards landing HC inside the Spartan 20-yard line before ultimately finding the endzone, 7-0.
Hanover pushed the difference to 14-0 in the second frame as veteran wide receiver
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) collected the coin. The senior hooked-up with senior
Kolton Richards (Kissimmee, Fla.) for a 34-yard catch and score.
The final first half blow came with just one minute remaining. Oppel picked up the strike running left for five yards after the catch for the score, 21-0.
The Panthers made a statement in the second half as sophomore
Michael Gordon (Nashville, Tenn.) took the opening kick 80-yards for a touchdown. The sophomore used some fancy footwork propelling HC on top 27-0.
The final Panther touchdown came with just under five minutes remaining in the contest. Freshman
Arjun Lothe (Greenwood, Ind.) delivered a dime pass to sophomore
Logan Jackson (Martinsville, Ind.) for the 32-yard reception, 34-0.
