HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers hit the road for Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Oct. 28. Hanover enters the weekend at 5-8 overall and 2-2 HCAC.
ROAD TRIP: The Blue and Red went on the road last week taking on league leading Mt. St. Joseph dropping the contest 52-27. Leading the Panthers was freshman
Eian Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) under center with 229-yards and three passing touchdowns. He also added 71-yards on the ground on nine attempts. Senior
Hunter Eads (Batavia, Ohio) hauled in two receiving touchdowns for 96-yards.
THE MATCHUP: Hanover and Rose-Hulman square off for the 13
th time since 2010 with the Fightin' Engineers leading the stretch 8-5. Rose-Hulman claimed the 2022 contest 47-17 despite a strong performance by junior
Austin Oppel (Brandenburg, Ky.). Defensively, junior
Ben Massey (Indianbapolis, Ind.) added 15 total tackles including a team-high nine solo stops and one forced fumble.
RED LIGHT: The Panther defense has been tough to crack this season surrendering a league low 16.7 points per game to their opponents. They also have held teams to a combined 15 touchdowns, a HCAC best. The secondary ranks second in total interceptions with 14 for a combined 161-yards.
HALL OF FAME DAY: Hanover returns to Alumni Stadium and C. Wayne Perry Field on Saturday, Nov. 4 when they welcome Anderson as part of Hall of Fame weekend. Alongside the contest, the Panthers will also induct four new members into the Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame. This year's inductees include Abby Merritt Baker '12 (Volleyball), Kaitlin McCulloch Illnick '13 (Women's Soccer), Daniel Passafiume '12 (Football), and Josh Payne (Head Cross Country and Track and Field).
