BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Panthers (4-1 overall, 1-1 HCAC) hit the road for Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Bluffton, using a second half outburst to claim the 21-0 victory.
Freshman
Eian Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) piloted the offense with three passing touchdowns and 99-yards. As a unit, Hanover turned in 276 total yards of offense while holding the Beavers to 186-yards.
Hanover made the only endzone visit of the first half at the 6:39 mark in the second quarter traveling 13-yards on three plays.
After a block punt set the Blue and Red up inside the Bluffton 20, Roudebush went to work. The freshman quarterback rushed for seven yards before finding junior
Carter Giacone (Speedway, Ind.) on the next play for the score, 7-0.
The Panthers extended their lead in the second half pushing their lead to 14-0 after an 11 play 78-yard drive. Most of the work was completed on the ground as junior
Austin Oppel (Brandenburg, Ky.) was able to land the Panthers inside the Beaver's redzone. Sophomore
Michael Gordon (Nashville, Tenn.) handled the rest connecting the 38-yard catch and score.
The final touchdown came in the fourth quarter with 5:35 remaining in the contest. Roudebusch aired it out once more finding Oppel for a 12-yard hookup and TD.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 when they welcome Manchester for Homecoming at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM.
