Men's Basketball dominates Spalding in season-opener

HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (1-0 overall) dominated Spalding as part of their season-opener on Thursday evening, winning the contest 94-60.

The Panthers landed four in double figures led by freshman William Herald (Fort Thomas, Ky.) with a team-high 15 points. Senior Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) and sophomore Avery Saunders (Ladoga, Ind.) added 13 points apiece.

Hanover came off the tip electric surging ahead 10-0. The scoring frenzy ensued as freshman Cam Freeman (Indianapolis, Ind.) collected from long range to extend the Hanover lead to 17-5 at the 13 minute mark.

Greenamoyer made his presence felt connecting for back-to-back blows that saw HC claim the 26-12 difference. The Panthers led by as many as 18 points in the first half entering the intermission with the 45-30 advantage.

The second half would see the Blue and Red push the difference to 58-35 following a layup by senior Ty Houston (Union, Ky.). With Hanover well in control, the scoring became much more balance. Pacing the second half outburst was Herald from long range netting five three pointers en route to the 94-60 victory.

Hanover returns to the hardwood on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Mt. St. Joseph and take on Trine. Tip-off is slated for 7 PM.
