HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (5-3 overall, 2-0 HCAC) dominated the Yellow Jackets of Defiance on Saturday afternoon in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action winning the contest 95-52.
The Panthers were paced by senior
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) with a game-high 21 points. Senior
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 11 points while freshman
CJ Walls (Louisville, Ky.) netted 10 points.
After a sluggish start the Hanover offense erupted. Leading the charge was senior
Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) who paced an 11-0 run that saw Hanover capture the double-digit advantage at the 10:30 mark, 21-10.
Defiance responded cutting the difference back to 25-21 when Hanover combated the attack with another 11-0 surge. Munoz paced the offense propelling HC on top 38-21. The Panther defense surrendered one point in the final two minutes of the first half to enter the intermission with the commanding 45-22 advantage.
Hanover continued to be all gas in the second half as Houston and Greenamoyer delt back-to-back blows that saw HC extend the difference to 56-24. With 9:53 remaining in the contest the Panthers captured their largest lead to date of 79-37 following a Walls runner in the paint. HC never looked back winning the contest by as many as 95-52.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 13 when they welcome Rose-Hulman. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
