SHREVEPORT, La. – The Hanover (2-2 overall) men's lacrosse team picked up a big win Wednesday evening as they knocked off Centenary College, 18-9.
The Panther were paced by freshman
Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.) with a team-high six goals on 10 shots with six landing on frame. Sophomore
Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) added four goals and a assist.
Junior
Lance Guttormson (West Bend, Wis.) picked up the win in frame recording 15 saves, surrendering just nine goals.
The Panthers surged ahead from the opening face-off as they netted three straight goals with sophomore
Alex Kleinhelter (Fishers, Ind.) pacing the attack, 3-0.
The scoring frenzy ensued as they added a four goal outburst led by the duo of Parker and sophomore
Owen Cuniffe (Indianapolis, Ind.) to the convincing 7-1 lead.
Hanover continued to attack frame rattling off five straight strikes in the third period for the double-digit advantage. The Blue and Red never looked back with Parker dealing the final Panther dagger en route to the 18-9 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 11 when they take on Concordia (Wis.). Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
