ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Hanover Panthers (1-3 overall) hit the road taking on North Central at neutral site Webster on Saturday afternoon, dominating the Vikings 11-2.
Junior
Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.) charted a game-high three RBI while teammate junior
Connor Farnsley (Jeffersonville, Ind.) went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
After falling behind 2-0, the Panther offense responded in the bottom of the third inning led by Christie. The junior tripled to left field scoring both sophomore
Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.) and sophomore
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.).
The top of the fourth inning saw the Blue and Red add a pair of insurance runs with Farnsley and sophomore
Grady Stickney (Cincinnati, Ohio) both recording RBI, 4-2.
Hanover blew the game wide open in the fifth inning scoring three runs as senior
Jacob Dupps (Louisville, Ky.) lead the surge. Dupps reached on a fielder's choice before scoring on a Farnsley single, 7-2.
The scoring frenzy ensued in the top of the sixth inning as Hanover pushed two more runs across the plate before scoring the game's final runs in the top of the seventh inning, 11-2.
Senior
Matthew Alter (Indianapolis, Ind.) picked up the win on the mound throwing six complete innings surrendering just two runs on six hits.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, March 5 when they take on North Park at 4:00 PM EST.
