LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Panthers (11-18 overall, 5-8 HCAC) earned a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference split on Saturday afternoon, dropping game one 10-3 before rallying to capture the nightcap 6-3.
GAME ONE
Hanover found themselves trailing 5-0 through two complete innings when sophomore
Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.) stepped up to the dish. Danneman connected for a sacrifice RBI to left field in the top of the third inning.
Junior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) added another RBI later in the inning as he homered to center field cutting the difference to 5-2.
However, Transylvania tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow the contest wide open 9-2.
The Panthers final run came in the next half inning as Danneman once again deemed clutch doubling to center field. Hanover dropped the contest 10-3.
GAME TWO
After surrendering the first run in the bottom of the second inning the Panther offense erupted. Junior
Connor Farnsley (Jeffersonville, Ind.) paced the charge as he hit an RBI double to right field before Roudebush collected his second home run of the series, 2-1.
The top of the fourth inning saw the scoring frenzy continue as freshman
Robert Carroll (Hendersonville, Tenn.) collected a double RBI to shortstop followed by a Danneman RBI that pushed the lead to 5-1.
The Panthers final run came in the top of the fifth inning with sophomore
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.) providing the sacrifice fly, 6-3.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, April 23 when they conclude their three game series with the Pioneers of Transylvania.
