HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (7-2 overall) wrapped up play as part of the annual Hanover Invitational on Saturday going 2-0 with wins over Berea (25-13, 25-18, 25-14) and Alma (25-20, 25-12, 25-21) in straight sets.
GAME ONE – BEREA
Hanover dominated the straight set win over Berea posting an impressive .370 hitting percentage with 38 kills on 92 total attempts.
Pacing the Hanover attack was freshman
Abbey McCoy (Indianapolis, Ind.) with a team-high eight kills. Junior
Molly Schwarzkopf (Greenfield, Ind.) tacked on seven kills while teammates, sophomore
Maddie Robertson (Mitchell, Ind.) and sophomore
CC Shick (Fort Thomas, Ky.) charted six kills apiece.
Senior
Casey Dunn (Fort Thomas, Ky.) paced the defensive effort recording a game-high 18 digs while adding three helpers.
GAME TWO – ALMA
The Panther offense continued to fire on all cylinders in the night cap recording a .340 hitting percentage with 45 total kills. Shick led the attack with an afternoon best nine kills. Schwarzkopf and McCoy both added seven.
Defensively, Dunn added 16 digs while McCoy picked up 13.
Hanover posted a 2-1 mark on the weekend after dropping a five set thriller Friday evening.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 20 when they head to Spalding. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
