HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's soccer team (4-1-3 overall) knocked off the Comets of Capital on Saturday afternoon, 4-2.
Senior
Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) led the Panthers with a game-high two goals on four shots.
As a team, Hanover charted a game best 19 shots, nine of which landed on frame.
Hanover drew first blood in the 23
rd minute as freshman Kaleigh Schrimer (Amelia, Ohio) played a pass from junior
Clara Finneseth (Corbin, Ky.), 1-0.
However, Capital would find the equalizer moments later sending the contest into a deadlock at the intermission, 1-1.
Hanover opened the second half on the attack as Reeves found back-to-back blows over a four minute span. Her first goal came off an assist by junior
Beth Cook (Goshen, Ohio) before junior
Nora Ludwig (Cincinnati, Ohio) dealt up a helper, 3-1.
The final Panther goal came in the 60
th minute as Cook netted a penalty kick en route to the victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 when they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Earlham. Game time is slated for 3:30 PM.
