DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Hanover women's soccer team (6-1-3 overall, 2-0-0 HCAC) dominated Defiance on Saturday afternoon, shooting past the Yellow Jackets 8-0.
The first half saw a scoring outburst by the Blue and Red as they netted seven goals on 24 shots.

Jostin Reeves (Greenwood, Ind.) netted the first blow just two minutes into the contest for the 1-0 advantage.

Callen Johnson (Ashland, Ky.) made her way into the scores column moments later as she played a pass from junior
Beth Cook (Goshen, Ind.) for the 2-0 lead.
With the flood gates wide open, the Panthers continued to pounce as Reeves claimed her second goal of the afternoon before Cook found the back of the net in the 25
th minute, 4-0.
Less than a minute after the Cook goal, junior
Nora Ludwig (Cincinnati, Ohio) punched in a pass from freshman
Cam Horsley (Mooresville, Ind.) giving HC the 5-0 advantage.
The final two first half goals came from the feet of freshman Kaleigh Schrimer (Amelia, Ohio) in the 35
th minute and senior
Cassidy Lett (Walton, Ky.) in the 45
th minute, 7-0.
Hanover added one final goal in the second half as Cook dealt the convincing 8-0 blow.
Hanover finished with an impressive 42 shots, 23 of which landed on frame. As a defensive unit, the Panthers surrendered just one attempt to the Yellow Jackets.
The Blue and Red return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 when they welcome Transylvania. Game time is set for 5:00 PM.
