BLUFFTON, Ohio – Hanover (12-7 overall, 8-4 HCAC) dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in the Sommer Center, 77-70.
The Panthers were led bv senior
Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) with a team-high 11 points.
Bluffton controlled their home turf in the opening half as they were able to shoot to the 16-9 advantage at the 14:01 mark. However, Hanover rallied with a 7-0 run paced by back-to-back three-pointers by senior
Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) and freshman
William Herald (Fort Thomas, Ky.) the knotted the contest.
Hanover finally flipped the script at the 11:46 mark behind a Gilman charge that would see HC capture the 30-25 difference. Bluffton refused to be tamed using a serious of runs to capture the 45-39 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Bluffton offense caught fire claiming the 52-46 difference following a small Beaver run. Hanover battled back cutting the difference to 56-54 behind a senior
Matt Munoz (Indianapolis, Ind.) layup. However, the Bluffton attack continued to fire on all cylinders as they were able to outscore HC 32-31 in the second half en route to victory.
Hanover returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, Jan. 31 when they travel to Transylvania. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
