TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Hanover wrapped up Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship action on Saturday afternoon as the men and women finished sixth overall.
Franklin won the women's title while Rose-Hulman claimed the men's title.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, freshman
Lucy Schoenlein (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished ninth in a time of 20:10.74, taking almost a minute off her seeded time. Sophomore
Chet Paulsen (Bloomington, Ind.) turned in a 10
th place mark in the event with a time of 17:57.99.
Sophomore
Callum Buchanan (Franklin, Ind.) found success in the 100-yard freestyle as he completed the race with a time of 48.24 seconds landing sixth.
Senior
Alaina Simmons (Amboy, Ind.) took ninth in the 200-yard backstroke as she touched the wall with a time of 2:29.28.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, junior
Aidah Shuttleworth (Beavercreek, Ohio) claimed ninth in a time of 2:50.05 while teammate junior
Amelia Austin (Batesville, Ind.) captured 11
th.
Rounding out the weekend was the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Schoenlein, Austin, Shuttleworth, and Simmons finishing sixth in a time of 4:10.12.
On the men's side, the team of sophomore
Chet Paulsen (Bloomington, Ind.), freshman
Boaz Hoffer (Richmond, Ind.), freshman
Charlie Weida (Bloomington, Ind.), and Buchanan claimed sixth in a time of 3:23.70.
