Sater records double-double; Hanover advances to HCAC Championship

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Panthers knocked off the no. 2 seeded Transylvania Pioneers 78-64 on Friday evening in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament action.

With the win, Hanover advances to the HCAC Tournament Championship to take on host Anderson at 6:00 PM.

The Panthers were led in the contest by junior Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.) with a double-double netting 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Senior Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) added a game-high 22 points including a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

Hanover found themselves trailing 6-0 when a senior Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) three-pointer and a Sater layup in the lane cut the difference to 10-9. The offense continued to surge as Greenamoyer finally flipped the score in the Panthers favor with 11:47 to play, 17-16.

However, Transylvania continued to hang around when an 8-0 run capped by Sater propelled HC on top 30-21. Freshman CJ Walls (Louisville, Ky.) helped extend the first half difference as he sank a wide open three-pointer sending HC into the intermission leading 40-34.

The second half saw the Panthers build on their lead as Houston netted five straight points for Hanover's largest lead to date, 55-40. The excitement ensued for the Blue and Red with Greenamoyer displaying success at the free throw line.

Transylvania attempted one final push as they were able to pull within 62-53 before Sater shut it down. The junior dominated the paint en route to his season-high 16 points and the Panther win.
