Panthers strike first but fall to Concordia-Wis.

HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (1-2 overall) dropped a hard-fought non-conference contest to Concordia-Wis. on Saturday afternoon, 23-4.

The Panthers finished with 28 shots led by sophomore Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.) with three goals on six attempts. Junior Owen Parker (O'Fallon, Mo.) added a team-high eight shots with two on frame.

The Panthers struck first in the contest as O'Brien was able to find the back of the net just minutes into the contest. However, Concordia began to settle in as they rattled off 12 straight goals for the 12-1 advantage.

Senior Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) halted the surge in the third period as he took a pass from Parker at the 9:03 point to pull HC within 12-2. But Concordia continued to be heavy on the attack as they added two more blows.

O'Brien rounded out the scoring for the Blue and Red finding the back of the net on two separate occasions before Hanover ultimately surrendered the non-conference contest.

Hanover returns to action on Friday, March 1 when they welcome Centenary. Face-off is set for 1:00 PM.
