HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (2-2 overall) defeated Centenary 10-5 on Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Alumni Stadium.
Three Panthers recorded double-digit goals led by a hat trick from sophomore
Colin O'Brien (Somers, Conn.). Senior
Nick Adams (Greenwood, Ind.) recorded a team-high 10 shots, five of which landed on frame. Senior Cole Finely (Louisa, Va.) went 6-of-12 from the face-off.
Centenary scored first when Adams knotted the score at the 4:42 mark, 1-1. The goal sparked a five goal outburst by the Blue and Red led by the duo of O'Brien and Adams, 5-1.
Late into the second quarter Centenary looked to respond as they found the back of the net with just over three minutes to play when sophomore
Ethan Abdoo (Bloomington, Ind.) shut the excitement down, 6-2.
The second half saw the Gents cut the difference to 6-3 before O'Brien completed the hat trick. The rest was history as Hanover rattled off the final three goals of the contest en route to the 10-5 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, March 6 when they open Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference action at Transylvania. Faceoff is set for 7:00 PM.
